2022 Country Cup Rugby League

  featured image

The 13s and 15s rugby league teams contested the first round of the statewide Country Cup in Week 6. The 13s team will progress to the next round of the state wide Country Cup competition after winning the day. It was a very competitive day of football and both groups showed great commitment to their team and pride in the College to be successful.

13s Team
The first game was a promising start with our team putting on a flurry of tries for a 26-0 win. Their confidence was further boosted when they tore our close rivals MacKillop to pieces with a 24 -0 victory. Our 3rd and final game was needed to win the day and progress to the next level in Port Macquarie. Camden Haven scoredthe  first points on our team for the day, however, the boys dug deep and managed to come back with a convincing win.

Special mention to forwards Tim James, Owen Stritch, Cooper Bannon and Axel Pope who laid a solid platform in getting the ball moving forward all day. This was complemented by some outstanding running and ball work from Joey Prosser, Noah Langdon and Husdon Bell. I look forward to seeing these boys in action again at the upcoming Regional Final. Simon Gudgeon, Coach.

Hopefully the team will be able to show similar qualities when they play the winners of the Coffs and Taree regions in the Mid North Coast final in Week 9.

15s Team

Congratulations to the 15 Boys who did not lose a match on the day. Unfortunately they did not score first in a close draw to MacKillop, and while disappointed with the overall result, played well as a team.

Mr Dave Lewis
Coach
