2025 Country Cup Rugby League Northern State Final

The 15s and 13s Rugby League teams contested the Northern State Final of the statewide Country Cup in Week 8. The event was previously scheduled at C.Ex Stadium but was washed out and moved to Geoff King Motors

The 15s team defeated Farrer Agricultural High and Xavier Catholic College Ballina in the first two rounds, setting up a final with St Mary's Gateshead. In a winner take all match, the team was looking to go back to back after clinching last years match by an intercept try with seconds to go. Unfortunately it wasn't to be after a nightmare bounce from a short drop out landed squarely in the hands of the opposition who strolled over for the match winning try. 

The 13s team suffered a similar fate, defeating Farrer Agricultural High and St John's College Woodlawn early and narrowly going down to Warners Bay High via a mid-field bomb.

Both teams should be congratulated on their efforts in making it this far in the competition and their performance on the day.
