High Achievement Acknowledgement
Congratulations to Year 12 student, Jazmin Cooke, who has been awarded the University of New England's Vice-Chancellor’s High Achievement Prize (VCHAP).
This is awarded to selected High School students in recognition of outstanding performance and endeavour in the fields of academic
performance, personal development, social and community contributions and School activities. The prize will support the student’s studies at the University of New England.
In 2025, the VCHAP is being offered to only two (2) Year 12 students nominated by the Principal of the School.
We are very proud of this achievement, Jazmin.
Year 12 - Come as Your Future Self
Our Year 12 students enjoyed another fun and memorable day as they move closer to their final week of formal secondary schooling. The “Come as Your Future Self” theme showcased an inspiring array of aspirations—future doctors, nurses, teachers, tradies, scientists, members of the armed forces, and many more. Judging by their creativity and enthusiasm, it’s clear our future is in very capable hands.

The Diocesan Junior/Intermediate Basketball Gala day was held in Port Macquarie on 12th - 13th August.
Congratulations to all four teams from the College who competed across the two days and represetned the College with pride. Unfortunately, none of our teams will progress to the CCC championships in 2025.
A sincere thank you to Mrs Gray, Mrs McLeod, Mr Harvey and Mr Ratliff for coaching our teams and giving up your time for training.
The following report was provided by Mrs Gray regarding the 9/10 girls campaign.
The Year 9/10 Girls Basketball Team proudly represented our school at the Lismore Diocesan Basketball Championships, held over two action-packed days in Port Macquarie.
Day 1 – Finding Their Rhythm
Our first day on the court saw the girls come up against Murwillumbah and the Mackillop B team. These early games gave the team an excellent opportunity to settle in and build their confidence—particularly valuable for players who were new to basketball, with some experiencing their very first competitive matches. Despite the varying experience levels, the team gelled beautifully, demonstrating strong communication and team play. Both games were won convincingly, with the girls dominating by over 40 points in each.
Day 2 – Tougher Competition and Determined Spirit
Day 2 began with a high-pressure match against reigning champions John Paul College. The girls took the first two quarters to find their rhythm, but once they settled into the game, their intensity lifted significantly. Had they brought the energy and cohesion from the second half into the first, the result could have looked very different. Nevertheless, the girls walked away proud of their fight and determination.
Their strong performances earned them a spot in the semi-finals, where they faced a formidable Xavier College side—who ultimately went on to win the entire competition. Despite their best efforts, the girls were outclassed on the day. Compounding the challenge were several injuries, including a dislocated finger and some pre-existing conditions, which led to key players being on the bench or in foul trouble late in the final quarter.
Team Spirit and Sportsmanship
Throughout the tournament, the girls played with heart, integrity, and the true spirit of Regional representation. They supported one another on and off the court, encouraged their less experienced teammates, and upheld sportsmanship in every match. Their resilience in the face of injury and adversity was commendable, and they should be extremely proud of their efforts.
