Congratulations to Melodie Cicak, Hannah Summers, Chloe Cooper, Brianna Ducker, Matthew Gleeson, Wilson Hooper and Nelson Young. We wish you all the very best for your upcoming HSC exams.
Principal's Reference Meetings
During the last two weeks, I have had the pleasure of meeting with Year 12 students to discuss their future plans after the HSC, and I must say, it's been really wonderful to hear of their goals and aspirations. I am so impressed with the level of maturity shown and look forward to writing References for these amazing young men and women who have been through so much in the past 18 months. I encourage all of Year 12 to remain focused and continue to show their strength and resilience leading up to their HSC exams commencing in November.
Well done and congratulations!

Peace and Joy
Mrs Tanya Daley
Acting Principal
As the Pope’s international mission agency, we respond to the call to love God and to love our neighbour by forming individuals and communities as missionary disciples of Jesus who share their faith in action and through prayer. We share in God’s mission to reach out, give life by sharing our personal and financial resources to - proclaim the Gospel, - serve people in need, - act for peace, justice and creation; In partnership with local churches, so that all may have life in Christ.
Love one another. Just as I have loved you,
you also should love one another. John 13:34
Local and Global
Catholic Mission, as the Australian agency of the Pontifical Mission Society, contributes funding and provides project support to critical church-run initiatives in Africa, Asia, Oceania, and South America as well as remote dioceses within Australia. Catholic Mission creates opportunities for people to be formed in mission, and respond through prayer, fundraising, and action, inspiring them to reach out, and give life—within Australia and around the world. All of us engage in Mission when we proclaim our faith through our words, actions and lives.
The development of all initiatives, projects, and programs are identified at the grassroots level through the extensive network that the Pontifical Mission Societies has throughout the world. We work with Church and community leaders in order to give people the opportunity for a full, enriched life—physically and spiritually—regardless of race, stigma, religion or gender.
Mission in action is never confined to a single person or to the present moment, but extends through communities, across generations, and eternally.
The work of mission by its nature cannot exclude anyone. Catholic Mission contributes funding and project support to critical Church-run initiatives in four areas:
- Work with communities through Propagation of the Faith
- Work with children through the Society of the Holy Childhood or Children’s Mission
- Work with Church Leaders through Society of St Peter the Apostle
- Mission formation through the Pontifical Mission Union
The Pontifical Mission Societies were founded in 1822 by a lay single woman named Pauline Jaricot. From humble beginnings, the first Pontifical Mission Society was started and today Catholic Mission acts as the Pope's own mission organisation in Australia. They are a cohesive team; united, skilled, inspired, and motivated, Australia-wide and internationally.
What are we doing at SJRC
We are supporting Catholic Mission by having a fundraising event on Friday 23rd October at the College. Students can wear crazy socks to school and donate a GOLD coin in support of Catholic Missions. There will be more information delivered in Pastoral Care to the students next week. We encourage all students to support this fundraiser in order to help those in need.

Year 12 students - Prayer Sponsors
Our prayers are with you.
Even though the HSC exams don’t officially start until 9th November, we are putting the call out to get some PRAYER POWER behind our Year 12 students in the lead up to, and during, their exams.
Year 12 students in our community have really had a tough and ever-changing environment to deal with over their final two years of school education. They have been tested time and time again on their ability to bounce back with learning swinging from online to face to face and uncertainty on exam formats and commencement dates. The COVID pandemic has built wonderful resilience but these are unprecedented times. All students in our schools have had to cope with this same situation but Year 12 has a special rite of passage and the last two years of formal education has some traditional events which are not going to look the same as these young adults were expecting. Their parents and families and school staff have been an amazing support for them.
In previous years we have asked our parish community to be prayer sponsors for our Year 12 students, during exam time only. This year we are asking you to pray for the students over the months leading up to their exams, not just at exam time.
If you are interested in being a prayer sponsor for a student or students at St Joseph's Regional College, please complete the Prayer Sponsors Google form below. A staff member will contact you with a student’s name.

HSC English News
The Year 12 cohort of 2021 was given another opportunity to extend their study this week. Students sat the English CSSA Trial papers before and after school under exam conditions, in an effort to replicate the HSC. There was an impressive turnout of dedicated students who continue to stay committed to their studies. More opportunities to sit Trial examinations across various subjects will be offered during Week 3 for students in an effort to work on HSC exam preparation.
Well done Year 12 - the finishing line is in sight!
Year 12 Design and Technology
Year 12 Design and Technology students have completed their Major Design Projects (MDP) for their HSC course. The MDP and supporting folio requires students to select and apply appropriate design, production and evaluation skills to a product, system or environment that satisfies an identified need or opportunity.
Congratulations to all Year 12 Design and Technology students for their innovative designs.

Year 11 Book return
With Year 11 students completing their Year 11 academic year, it is the expectation that they will return any textbooks that are no longer needed as they commence Year 12 studies. Students have been notified via email about which texts are due for return. Unreturned texts will be billed in Week 5 - please make sure your child is on top of this very important task. It ensures a smooth transition for our incoming Year 11 2022 students, to have all course materials ready for them to borrow.
