Performance Opportunities
The Co-Curricular Music Program at St Joseph’s Regional College enriches students’ musical experience beyond the classroom. While supporting our HSC Music students, it also offers performance opportunities within the parish, community, and beyond.

Students participate in:

  • Local eisteddfods, festivals, and community events
  • College assemblies and liturgical celebrations
  • Workshops, band tours, and music competitions

Our SAPSS ensemble members have performed in locations such as New Zealand, Tasmania, Darwin, Mt Gambier, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.

These experiences foster teamwork, community spirit, cultural and spiritual service, and a lifelong love of music.

Instrumental & Choral Tuition

Tutors_5_.jpg

The most effective way to learn a musical instrument is through individual instruction. At St Joseph’s Regional College, students can access one-on-one or small group lessons as part of our comprehensive music program.

Our experienced tutors offer lessons in:
Piano, Voice, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Brass Band Instruments, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Percussion, and Drums.

Lesson Scheduling
At St Joseph’s Regional College, instrumental lessons are scheduled to minimise disruption to learning.

For most students, lessons occur during class time on a rotating timetable to avoid missing the same subject repeatedly.

Senior students may have lessons before or after school, during breaks, or in study periods.

Lesson times are organised by the tutor in consultation with the student and their parents.

Instrument Rental
Students enrolled in the Instrumental Tuition Program at St Joseph’s Regional College can access instrument hire through the College.

Available instruments include:
Trumpet, Trombone, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Violin, and Guitar.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge that our school resides on the Lands of the Birpai Nation.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians who have walked and cared for this land for thousands of years and their descendants who maintain these spiritual connections and traditions.

We pay our respect to Elders past, present and future leaders.

We reflect on the millions of footprints that travelled the Dreaming pathways and continue to walk this land today. The Land we are on now, the land we live, work, breathe, eat and sleep: always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.

We walk alongside the custodians of this beautiful country, Australia, as we seek Voice, Treaty and Truth.
